The Red Monster Course Information

The Red Monster 25k and 50M will be a looped course starting and finishing at shelters 3&4 at Natural Bridge State Resort Park. This one is going to be rough folks, bring your poles and your climbing legs. We have descriptions of the courses below, and these links will take you to the Strava and Caltopo maps for each course. I will be making another update soon with instructions on how to send a gpx file to your watch at the bottom of the page. We can't wait to see you out there!

The Red Monster 25K Course

The Red Monster 25k Course begins and ends at Pavillions 3 & 4 at the Natural Bridge State Resort Park. We'll cross the road into Whittleton Campground before continuing onto the Sheltowee Trace trail until we reach the Gray's Arch Parking lot and your first aid station. You'll depart the aid station onto the Daniel Boone Hut (also called Martin's Fork) trail and do a short section before climbing out and joining the Gray's arch Trail from here. You'll continue past Gray's Arch down the stairs onto Rough Trail continuing until you reach the Chimney Top Road intersction and the second aid station. You'll then decend back down Rough trail until you turn left onto the Koomer Ridge Trail. Follow the Koomer Ridge Trail until you turn right onto Buck Trail, and then continue onto the Sheltowee Trace. From here you'll return back to the Gray's Arach Aid Station before continuing back down the Sheltowee Trace in the same direction you came up originally, back to the Start/Finish area.

The Red Monster 50 Mile Course

The Red Monster 50M Course begins and ends at Pavillions 3 & 4 at the Natural Bridge State Resort Park. We'll cross the road into Whittleton Campground before continuing onto the Sheltowee Trace trail until we reach the Gray's Arch Parking lot and your first aid station. You'll depart the aid station onto the Daniel Boone Hut (also called Martin's Fork) trail and do a short section before climbing out and joining the Gray's arch Trail from here. You'll continue past Gray's Arch down the stairs onto Rough Trail continuing until you reach the Chimney Top Road intersction and the second aid station. You'll then decend back down Rough trail until you turn left onto the Koomer Ridge Trail. Follow the Koomer Ridge Trail until you turn right onto Buck Trail, and then continue onto the Sheltowee Trace. From here you'll return back to the Gray's Arach Aid Station. This is a looped course, you'll complete that loop 3 more times to complete 4 total loops of the course. Once you've completed thsoe 4 larger loops, you'll then complete 2 short loops of the Daniel Boone Hut (Martin's Fork) trail (we need to get you to 50 miles!). Once those are complete you'll come back down to the Start/Finish area via the Sheltowee Trace trail.
