1992

The Home Depot opened its first Maryland store in Glen Burnie. Sean Sites and Home Depot become involved in the construction of The Children's House at Johns Hopkins. The Home Depot coordinated the donations of roughly 2,000 sheets of drywall and all bathroom fixtures.

1993-1995

The Home Depot continues to partner through volunteerism at The Children's House at Johns Hopkins.

1996

The Home Depot works with Believe In Tomorrow to create a family-friendly and health focused event. The inaugural Port to Fort 6K Walk/Run aligns Home Depot's goals with Believe In Tomorrow's mission and becomes a major funding source for the foundation.

1996-1998

Believe In Tomorrow opens the first pediatric respite facility in the country, The House on Fenwick Island, located in Delaware. Two years later, The Home Depot employees build a sunroom addition and a brick patio, giving families more space to relax and renew.

1999

The construction of The Children's House By The Sea begins. Although there was no local store presence at the time, Home Depot employees traveled over 125 miles to volunteer in the construction process. The Home Depot also coordinated the donation of substantial building products.

2000-2004

The Home Depot introduces Believe In Tomorrow to several well established regional corporations (Bell Nursery, DAP, and DeWalt), who all become lasting programmatic partners.

2005

Believe In Tomorrow undertakes two major building projects, The Children's House at St. Casimir and The House on Wisp Mountain. Home Depot donates significant construction materials and continues to volunteer with ongoing projects.

The Home Depot's Port to Fort 6K gives birth to Believe In Tomorrow's Military Initiative, which has become a national effort to support U.S. armed service families.

2005-2026

The Home Depot teams up with Bell Nursery to landscape our facilities, which they still do today. The Town of Ocean City recognizes Believe In Tomorrow and The Home Depot with the city's Beautification Award. The Home Depot volunteers complete the deck expansion of The Children's House By The Sea.

2006

The Home Depot's Sean Sites is honored with the Unsung Hero Award for his commitment and service to Believe In Tomorrow. Port to Fort celebrates its 10th anniversary. The event sees incredible growth, with more than 20 Home Depot store teams participating.

2013

The Home Depot designs and donates all the materials and labor to renovate two large state-of-the-art communal kitchens at The Children's House at Johns Hopkins. The Home Depot's efforts enable over 21,000 meals to be served annually through the Family Supper Program.

2014

The Home Depot renovates the communal dining area at The Children's House at Johns Hopkins to include a large buffet serving area that allows a nourishing breakfast to be provided daily.

2018

In honor and recognition of The Home Depot's incredible support and service, Believe In Tomorrow recognizes The Home Depot and its mid-Atlantic leadership at the 25th Anniversary Celebration of The Children's House at Johns Hopkins.

2018-2019

Team Depot takes on a comprehensive renovation of Believe In Tomorrow's first military pediatric respite housing facility, The Children's House on the Bay, including a fully renovated kitchen, new flooring throughout the main floor, and a beautiful new bay-front deck.

2019

Team Depot continues the holiday tradition of annually decorating The Children's House at Johns Hopkins to bring smiles and joy to children and families.

2021

The Home Depot renovates bathrooms at The Children's House at Johns Hopkins, enhancing comfort for families during their stay.

2022

The Home Depot's Jim Emge is honored with the Unsung Hero Award for his generosity and dedication to Believe In Tomorrow. The team leads a demolition day at the new 65th Street Children's House By The Sea II.

2023

The Home Depot beautifies the backyard of The House By The Sea II, making it a wonderful space for families to come together and have fun. Believe In Tomorrow's Catonsville office gets an upgrade with new carpet installed by The Home Depot. The Children's House By The Sea shines bright during the holidays, thanks to The Home Depot's festive decorations.

2024

Team Depot returns for a service day to improve the outdoor spaces at Believe In Tomorrow's Catonsville office. The Home Depot's dedication continues with multiple service days at The House By The Sea II.

2025

The Children's House at Deep Creek Lake welcomes Team Depot for a day of yard work and building a brand-new firewood shelter, along with beautiful Adirondack chairs and tables for our firepit area and front porch.

2026

The Home Depot helps make this year's Benefit & Auction a success with the generous donation of auction items. The Western Maryland team refreshes Believe In Tomorrow's mountain respite houses with fresh landscaping, power washing, and more.
