About the Pretzel Run
A St. Robert Tradition
For more than a decade, the Pretzel Run has brought together St. Robert families, friends and neighbors for an evening rooted in faith, school spirit and community.
More Than a Race

Running, Walking and Growing Together

The Pretzel Run began as a school fundraiser and has grown into a community tradition. Each year, runners, walkers, young dashers, volunteers, sponsors and neighbors gather at Lake Park to celebrate St. Robert School and support the experiences that help its students thrive.

The Story Behind the Name

Why Is It Called the Pretzel Run?

The pretzel has long been associated with Christian tradition. According to a traditional account, European monks created a simple Lenten bread and shaped it to resemble arms crossed in prayer. Because it was made with flour, water and salt, it was well suited for a season when dairy and eggs were prohibited.

Over time, the pretzel’s three openings also became associated with the Holy Trinity. Its connections to faith, community and good fortune made it a fitting symbol for a joyful St. Robert tradition.

Three loops. One community.
An Annual Tradition

Built by Families, Volunteers and Community Partners

The Pretzel Run is made possible by the parents, school families, volunteers, local businesses and community organizations that contribute their time, talents and support. Together, they create an event where serious runners, casual walkers, young children and cheering spectators all have a place.

Every Step Makes a Difference
Every registration, sponsorship, and Pretzel Pledge helps support St. Robert students.
Where the Proceeds Go

Supporting St. Robert Home & School

Proceeds from the Pretzel Run benefit St. Robert Home & School and are reinvested in the school community. This support helps Home & School continue the programs, traditions and experiences that enrich student life and strengthen connections among St. Robert families.

A stronger school community begins with people showing up for one another.
