- Will I be required to wear a mask before, during or after the event?
- No, unless it is required by executive order from the government. However, we would ask that you respectfully socially distance yourself whenever possible.
- What drinks or food will be available at the finish line?
- There will be bottled water and a variety of granola bars available for participants upon completing the race.
- Will runners and walkers be crossing paths or be in contact with each other at any point during the race?
- Runners will begin the race, once all runners have departed the walkers will then begin the course.

- Yes, age group awards are given to the top 3 male and top 3 female winners in the following age groups:
• 19 and under
• 20 - 29
• 30 - 39
• 40 -49
• 50 - 59
• 60+

- Will I receive a race medal upon completing the race?
- Yes, upon completion of the race, they will be available at the finish line.

- Is there a limit to the number of runners participating?
- Yes, 350. We recommend you sign up early.
- Will the machinery be in operation on the day of the race?
- No, the course will not have any trucks or machinery in operation on race day. The course will be groomed and safe for all participants as long as all safety procedures and directives are followed.
Please Note: Due to safety concerns, there is NO Standing or Sitting feet facing the quarry on the high wall.

- What kind of shoes should I wear?
- Please, no open-toed shoes are allowed at the quarry. We highly recommend a good pair of tennis shoes for everyone who is in attendance at the Quarry Challenge, including spectators.
- Is this course stroller friendly?
- Strollers are NOT allowed on the Quarry Challenge course.

- Pets are NOT allowed due to safety concerns; service dogs are the exception.
- How long do I have to complete the race?
- You have 90 minutes to complete the 5K.
- What are the award age groups?
- Top 3 male and top 3 female winners in the following age groups:

- What time does the award ceremony begin?
- The award ceremony begins at 10:15 a.m.
- Am I allowed to transfer my registration?
- Yes, you are able to transfer your registration if transferred by September 10th.

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide a different t-shirt size than what was originally ordered.

- What is included in my entry fee?
- Your 5K race entry fee includes an event t-shirt, finisher's medal, award eligibility, post-race refreshments, access to aid stations, timed race results and downloadable pictures.

- Can I wear headphones on the course?
- We discourage the use of headphones, but it is permitted.
- Will the event go on rain or shine?
- The event will go on rain or shine with only the possibility of delay in the event of lightning.
- Is the course certified?
- The course will be measured correctly but not certified. It is certifiably challenging, though!
Due to the ever changing landscape of the active Sylvania Minerals Quarry, the course will not be setup until the day before the event.

- Where do I pick up my packet?
- Before Race Day
You can pick up your race packet on Friday, September 26th from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. and Saturday, September 27th, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Village of South Rockwood campus.

Day of Race
You can also pick up your race packet the day of the race (7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.) in the Community Room on the Village of South Rockwood/South Rockwood Library campus.
(This is the same location as parking/bussing).
Where do I park for this event?

You will be shuttled to quarry by bus. Buses start running at 7:45 a.m. and the LAST BUS before race time leaves at 8:45 a.m. We encourage you to get there early!
Returning buses will run until 11:30 a.m. from the Quarry to the parking location.

- Can someone else pick up my packet for me?
- We strongly encourage all runners to pick up their own race packet. It is important for runners to verify their data and make any necessary changes. However, if it is not possible for you to pick-up your own packet, you may have someone pick it up for you. That person will be responsible for verifying personal race information (name, age, birthdate, etc.).
- Is there a location for personal item storage?
- Yes, we will have a dedicated location with volunteers to watch your personal items. There will be a pull tab on your race bib to identify your personal items. (NO CASH, JEWELRY, OR ELECTRONICS PLEASE)
