5K Race FAQ’s
When and Where will packet be held?
Ø Packet Pick up will be at the picnic pavilion behind the old gas station façade which is across the street and just to the left of the downtown strip (next door to Farm Girlz Findery)
o Registration Packet Pick up for race shirt and bib will be Friday, June 20th from 3:00pm – 7:00pm and on race day, Saturday, June 21st from 5:30am to 6:45am.
o At Registration, please check in to pick up race bib which will have time chip in it, and pick up race t-shirt.
When and Where is the start line?
Ø Start times are the same for both the 10 Mile and 5K Races. 7am
Ø Start lines are the same for both the 10 Mile and 5K Races located at the top of Hinkle Hill Road which is located next to the Bell Buckle Post Office. Hinkle Hill Road is a looped road. Please do not enter from the Post Office side of the loop as that is marked off for handicap parking and emergency vehicles and tends to get a big congested pre-race. Best way to enter Hinkle Hill to start line is to walk down Webb Road towards the Baptist Church and take a right at Hinkle Hill and walk up the hill to the start line from there.
Where is the Finish Line?
Ø Finish lines are the same for both the 10 Mile and 5K Races located in the large parking lot in front of the downtown stores. The finish line mat will be picked up at 9:30am
Will there be Finishers Medals handed out?
Ø Finisher’s Medals will be provided to all runners crossing finish line.
Where can I find parking for the race?
Ø Parking updates can be found on the race website Race Day Information drop down. Parking is a bit of a early bird gets the worm scenario. You will find free parking at the Webb School and the Bell Buckle Park on Peacock Street. The Bell Buckle Fire Department on Main Street will be offering parking for a minimal fee. Other lots can be found behind the Post Office off of Hinkle Hill, the Bell Buckle Banquet Hall, 82 Market, and the lot across from 82 Market. Street parking is discouraged as it can be an impediment for runners and also be problematic in the event of an emergency vehicle needing access. Click here for parking map:

Where are the restrooms and porta potties located?
Ø Porta potties will be placed along the alleyway behind the stores. (The public restrooms are shut down on event days due to volume issues) There are no porta potties along the race route
Is there showers available?
Showers will be available until 11:00am at the Webb School gymnasium. Follow the signs to the gym. Showers are in the locker rooms downstairs.
How can I find the route for the race course?
Ø Race Course Route - Directional signs will be along the route with 5K runners veering off from the 10 Mile runners at about the half-mile mark. Mile Markers will be on signage and painted on the road. Please check the course maps at www.bellbucklerc-moonpie10mileand5Krun.com to familiarize yourself with the particular course you will be running.
o ALL runners are responsible for knowing and familiarizing their selves with the course. Race officials will have the courses marked but are not responsible any misdirection taken by runner.
Where will the water stops be located along the route?
Ø Water stops for the 5K Run will be provided just beyond the two mile mark.
Will there be a post-race breakfast?
Ø Post Race Runners breakfast - Water will be provided at the finish line and at the pavilion area where breakfast will be served. Due to the pavilion serving as registration & timing area, breakfast may not be ready until after 7:30 for all you 5K runners! The Runners breakfast will be under the pavilion. Please look for the directional signs.
Will showers be available after the race?
Ø Showers will be available until 11am at the Webb School gymnasium. Signs will be placed directing runners to the gym where the showers can be found downstairs.
Where will the Awards Ceremony be held?
Ø Awards - the award ceremony for the Overall, Masters and Grandmasters winners for the 5K Run will be held at the Stage on the festival grounds located behind the downtown shops at 8:30am. The awards for the age category winners will be handed out to the left of the stage once all runners’ times are posted.
What are the Award categories?
o Trophy info – Trophies are given for the top three finishers for male and female for both the 10 Mile and 5K races for Overall, Masters, (40+) and Grandmasters (50+)
o Age Category Awards – Awards are given to the top three finishers for male and female in age division classes for both races as follows unless otherwise noted:
9 and under (5K), 14 & Under (10 Mile), 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 5=75-79, 80+
Are Headphones allowed?
Ø Headphones are discouraged for safety purposes
Are Strollers allowed?
Ø Strollers are allowed, however, they must go the back of the start line up.
Are pets allowed?
Ø Pets are not allowed on course.
Are registration transfers to other runners allowed?
Ø No transfers – once registered, runners may not transfer their registration to another runner.
Can I cancel or carry over my registration?
Ø All Registrations are final – registrations cannot be refunded nor carried over.
Are registration transfers between races allowed?
Ø Transfer between races – Should a runner request a transfer from one race to the other, there will be a $15 transfer fee if there is availability in the other race.
What happens to the race if it is raining or inclement weather?
Ø Rain or shine – The races will be held rain or shine. In the case of dangerous inclement weather, there may be a delay in the start time.
How can I resolve a problem with my registration?
Ø Troubleshooting – There will be a tent set up next to the Registration area to help with any registration problems that may possibly occur.
