Event Description
La Course is an annual 5K event welcoming both runners and walkers of all ages, hosted by the French American School of Rhode Island (FASRI). Taking place at the scenic Roger Williams Park, the event includes a 5K run/walk for adults and a 1 mile run/walk for children. La Course is open to all, connecting the FASRI community to the wider New England public through sportsmanship and outdoor fun. On y va !

About the Kids 1 Mile Run/Walk: This event is intended for children up to 13 years old. To register your child for the 1 mile run/walk, please register them for the event titled Kids 1 Mile Run/Walk (CHILD ENTRANT). Parents or guardians of young children are welcome to run alongside their children: if you intend to do so, we ask that you register yourself and pay in the category titled Kids 1 Mile Run/Walk (ADULT ENTRANT), so that we can keep track of all participants and ensure safety. If you would also like to run the 5k, please additionally register yourself for the 5k Run/Walk event.

Mile One Coaching (M1C) is professional-run coaching service led by Sam New and Derick Ariyam, two Road Runners Club of America (RRCA)-certified coaches who also happen to be FASRI parents!
In preparation for La Course, M1C will be offering two complimentary group training runs exclusively for registered La Course participants!
These welcoming, beginner-friendly sessions will help participants build confidence, practice running and walking at a comfortable pace, and feel prepared to take on La Course 5K.
Whether this will be your first 5K, your first race in a while, or simply an opportunity to meet other members of the La Course community, all adults are welcome. Adult participants of all ages and abilities may run, walk, or combine the two.
