What if I can’t run a whole 5K? We have an option of a 1 Mile Course that you can walk or run or the Kids Trot which includes short sprints on Ginty Field that vary by age - a separate race for each. The oldest kids run up to 150 meters while the 2 year olds run about 25 meters.

They are allowed on the 1M course but you will be asked to begin the race behind all other race participants. Please note that there is a one-hour cutoff for race completion per town regulations.

*Ribbons to 1 Milers and Kids Trotters

PLEASE NOTE: Awards are given based on “gun time” not “chip time”. This 5K features a start line timing mat which captures when you personally cross the start line. Although 5K awards are based on "gun time" or the official "on your mark, get set, go", you will be provided with a "chip time" meaning the elapsed time between when you cross the start line and finish line.

CLOCK/RACE time vs. CHIP time Explained

Clock/Race Time: The amount of time it takes a runner to finish the race from the moment of the official start sound and the start of the race clock.
Chip time: The actual amount of time it takes a runner to go from the starting line of a race to the finish line (net time).
As you cross the timing mat at the starting line, a scoring chip (on your bib #) registers that you've started the race. As you cross the finish line, the chip registers that you've finished the race. The amount of time that it takes you to reach the starting line after the official start sound is not included in your Chip time.
Finish Line & Mile Clocks: Clock/Race time is displayed.
Awards: Overall and age group places are determined by Clock/Race time. Chip time is provided as a courtesy.
