Turkey Trot for the Memory – Participant Waiver and Release of Liability

In consideration of my entry being accepted, I, the undersigned participant (or parent/legal guardian on behalf of a minor participant), intending to be legally bound, hereby waive, release, and forever discharge any and all claims, demands, rights, and causes of action for damages, injuries, losses, or liabilities that I may have against the Turkey Trot for the Memory, the Event Director, RunSignup, event sponsors, volunteers, officials, contractors, municipalities, property owners, and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives, successors, and assigns arising out of or related to my participation in this event.

I understand that participating in a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I certify that I am physically fit, sufficiently trained, and have no medical condition that would prevent me from safely participating. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participating in this event, including, but not limited to, falls, contact with other participants, spectators, vehicles, or objects, weather conditions, road and course conditions, wildlife, equipment failure, and any other risks inherent to road racing. I acknowledge that these risks are known and appreciated by me.

I agree to abide by all event rules and instructions provided by race officials, volunteers, law enforcement, and medical personnel. I understand that race officials may remove me from the event if they determine that continuing participation would be unsafe for myself or others.

In the event of illness, injury, or medical emergency during the event, I authorize the Event Director and designated medical personnel to obtain emergency medical treatment on my behalf. I understand that I am solely responsible for any costs associated with such medical care, including transportation, treatment, hospitalization, and related expenses.

I grant permission to the event organizers and their designees to use my name, photograph, video, voice, likeness, race results, and other recordings taken during the event in any print, digital, social media, broadcast, or promotional materials related to the Turkey Trot for the Memory without compensation or further permission.

Registration Policy

I understand and agree that:

• All registration fees and donations are non-refundable.
• Registrations and bib numbers are non-transferable.
• The event may be postponed, modified, or canceled due to weather, emergency, public safety concerns, acts of God, or other circumstances beyond the organizers' control.
• No refunds will be issued if the event is postponed, modified, or canceled for these reasons.
• I understand that this is a charitable fundraising event benefiting those affected by Alzheimer's disease, and my registration fee supports the mission of the Turkey Trot for the Memory.

Parent/Guardian Consent

If registering a participant under the age of 18, I certify that I am the participant's parent or legal guardian and have the legal authority to execute this waiver on the participant's behalf. I acknowledge that I have read and understand this waiver and agree to all of its terms on behalf of myself and the minor participant.

By submitting this registration, I acknowledge that I have carefully read this Waiver and Release of Liability, fully understand its contents, understand that I am giving up substantial legal rights, and voluntarily agree to its terms.
