Strategic Staffing Solutions Turkey Trot Waiver and Release
By entering the 2026 Strategic Staffing Solutions Turkey Trot I hereby state I have conditioned myself to participate in the event I have chosen. I, for myself, my heirs, my executors, administrators, and assignees, do hereby release and discharge The Parade Company, Michigan Thanksgiving Parade Foundation, their affiliates, their agents, employees, officers, directors, volunteers, successors and assigns and any and all sponsors (the “Released Parties”), from damages, injuries, illnesses or expenses occasioned by my participation in the 2026 Strategic Staffing Solutions Turkey Trot and any virtual or pre- and post- event activities.
The novel coronavirus, COVID-19: The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious. By signing this Waiver and Release I hereby acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 through attendance at and/or participation in the 2026 Strategic Staffing Solutions Turkey Trot, and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, or death.
I attest that I have read the rules of the event and I agree to abide by all of them. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to any aspect of my participation in this event, including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for any reason. I assume all risks associated with running or walking in this event, including but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants or with runners, walkers, cyclists and motor vehicles who are not entered in this event, the effects of the weather, the conditions of the roads and trails, and the possibility of contracting a contagious disease, all such risks being known and appreciated by me.
I understand that this may be a virtual event. I attest that during the preparation and completion of this event that I will obey all traffic laws, and understand that there may be no traffic support, no hydration or nutrition support, no bathroom facilities and no medical support before, during or after my event.
I hereby grant full permission to The Parade Company and its affiliates and sponsors to use any photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose including commercial advertising, without monetary payment to me. I understand that my finish results may be made publicly available online. I understand that this event does not provide for refunds in the event of a cancellation or if it is changed to a virtual event. By signing this waiver, I consent that I am not entitled to a refund if the event is cancelled before or during the event and/or changed to a virtual event. The Parade Company, in accordance with management, city officials and local law enforcement has the authority to alter the schedule and/or cancel any of the events for emergency purposes such as, but not limited to, inclement weather, threat of terrorism or other scenarios that pose a significant risk to the health and safety of participants, volunteers, spectators and the surrounding community. If such emergency conditions force cancellation or change to a virtual event, refunds cannot be provided since funds will have been spent in preparation for Race Day. The Parade Company will distribute race shirts and finisher medals to the extent practicable if they hold a virtual event.
I HEREBY AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND SAVE AND HOLD HARMLESS the Released Parties and each of them from any loss, liability, damage, or cost they may incur, including but not limited to including claims regarding COVID-19 infection, due to the presence of the undersigned in any way observing, or working for, or participating in the event and any pre- or post-event activities, whether caused by the negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise.
By checking the acknowledgment box, I hereby certify I am over 18 years of age or that I am the parent or guardian of this participant, that I have read all the terms and conditions of this release and do intend to be legally bound thereby.
