In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Run for the Refuge, I, the undersigned, in full recognition and appreciation of the dangers and hazards inherent to recreational activities and outings and to this activity specifically, including but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the trail, do hereby voluntarily agree to assume all associated risks and responsibilities to which I may be exposed during transportation to and from the activity and during my participation in the activity. Further, I do, for myself, my heirs, successors, assigns, and personal representatives, hereby agree to release the University of Alaska, its Board of Regents, officers, agents, and employees and the Northern Alaska Environmental Center, its Board of Directors, officers, agents employees and volunteers, from any and all liability, loss, damage and expense, including reasonable attorney fees, which may arise on account of damage to personal property or personal injury or death resulting from my transportation to and from or my participation in this recreational activity, provided the damage or death does not result from the gross negligence or intentional misconduct of the Northern Alaska Environmental Center, its Board of Directors, officers, agents, employees, volunteers, or the University of Alaska, its Board of Regents, their officers, agents or employees.
