I know that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I would not enter the Run Around the Square (the “Race”) and run unless medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a Race official relative to my ability to safely complete the Race. I acknowledge and assume all risks associated with running in the Race including, but not limited to personal injuries, property damage, or wrongful death which may result from: falls, contact with other participants, weather (including high heat and/or humidity) traffic and road conditions, or other potential hazards, all such risks being known and understood by me. I also acknowledge and assume any risks and dangers not known or reasonably foreseeable at this time. Having read this waiver and release, and in consideration of the acceptance of my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release Run Around the Square, Inc., the City of Pittsburgh, USATF, Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, and all Race sponsors, representatives and successors from any and all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in the Race though such liabilities may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of myself, or the persons and entities named in this waiver and release. I acknowledge, understand and agree that by signing this waiver and release, I am assuming any of the risks and chances described herein. Nonetheless, it is my desire to participate in the Race.

I assume all risks associated with volunteering in this event including, but not limited to: contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the Run Around the Square, Inc., the City of Pittsburgh, USATF, Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, and all Race sponsors, from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my volunteering in this event even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I consent that I may receive any medical treatment deemed advisable in the event of accident, injury, or illness during participation. I understand that race officials may, for any reason and in their absolute discretion, regulate, suspend, or revoke my volunteering in the event, and I must promptly abide by any directive by any race official.

I authorize the Race to take and use images of me relating to the event, including without limitation photographs, digital images, renderings, video or audio recordings, and accompanying written descriptions.  I agree that the Race owns the images and all rights related to them and may use the images in any manner.  I understand and agree that I will not receive payment for any use of images in which I may appear.
