Run, walk or strut through a lively 5K course filled with music, cheer and plenty of colorful support along the way. Every registered participant receives a pair of Big Gay socks, and everyone who crosses the finish line earns a commemorative finisher medal—because 3.1 miles deserves both accessories and evidence.

High Heel Havoc is one glorious city block of speed, style and questionable ankle decisions. Competitors can race for prizes in multiple categories, including fastest finisher and best overall commitment to the bit. Every participant also receives a complimentary drink afterward—either to toast the glory or gently soothe any emotional damage.

As part of Community Week Tucson, join the Big Gay 5K, Desert Voices and our friends at HighWire for Heels & Harmonies, a casual afternoon of strutting, singing and community connection.

Our Glitter Goblin will lead short, beginner-friendly lessons on standing, walking and moving confidently in heels—perfect for registered High Heel Havoc participants and anyone who is simply heel-curious. Between lessons, members of Desert Voices will pop up with brief performances and information about joining Tucson’s LGBTQIA+ and ally chorus.

No heels, singing experience or Big Gay 5K registration required. Come practice, meet some delightful humans, grab a drink at HighWire and make an afternoon of it with lunch or a snack next door at Gibson Food Hall.
