In consideration of being permitted to participate in Steps for the Cure: Battle • Thrive • Live • Run (the "Event"), a fundraising event benefiting Project Purple, I, the participant, intending to be legally bound, hereby waive, release, and discharge Project Purple, the Event Director, event organizers, sponsors, volunteers, vendors, partners, and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, representatives, successors, and assigns from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, damages, costs, expenses, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, illness, disability, or death that may occur as a result of my participation in the Event, whether occurring before, during, or after the Event.

I acknowledge that participation in a running, walking, or endurance-related event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, traffic, weather conditions, road and course conditions, and other risks that may result in serious injury or death. I voluntarily assume all such risks and accept full responsibility for my participation.

I certify that I am physically fit, have sufficiently trained for this Event, and have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical professional. I agree to abide by all rules, instructions, and decisions of Event officials regarding my participation and safety.

In the event of an illness, injury, accident, or medical emergency during the Event, I authorize Project Purple and Event personnel to secure medical treatment on my behalf as deemed necessary. I understand and agree that I am solely responsible for all costs associated with such medical treatment, transportation, hospitalization, or care.

I grant Project Purple, the Event, and their authorized representatives the unrestricted right to use my name, likeness, image, voice, photographs, video recordings, and other media captured during the Event for promotional, educational, fundraising, marketing, and other lawful purposes without compensation or further permission.

I understand that all registration fees and donations are non-refundable. Project Purple and the Event organizers reserve the right to postpone, modify, or cancel the Event due to weather, public safety concerns, acts of God, government restrictions, emergencies, or other circumstances beyond their control. No refunds will be issued under such circumstances. Event details are subject to change without notice. Race entries and bib numbers are non-transferable unless otherwise approved by the Event Director.

By submitting my registration, I acknowledge that I have carefully read, fully understand, and voluntarily agree to the terms of this Waiver and Release of Liability. If the participant is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must agree to this waiver on the participant's behalf.
