In consideration of my entry being accepted, I, the participant, intending to be legally bound, do hereby waive and forever release any and all rights and claims for damages or injuries that I may have against the Event Director, Paws for WeCare, Top O' Michigan Insurance Solutions, RunSignup.com, and all of their agents assisting with the event, sponsors and their representatives, vendors, volunteers and employees for any and all injuries to me, my dog, or my personal property. This release includes all injuries and/or damages suffered by me or my dog before, during, or after the event. I recognize, intend, and understand that this release is binding on my heirs, executors, administrators, or assignees.
I know that participating in a walk — including alongside a dog — is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and participate unless I am physically able to do so, and, if I bring a dog, unless my dog is healthy and able to safely take part. I assume all risks associated with participating in this event including, but not limited to: falls; contact with other participants, spectators, or animals; dog bites, scratches, or other animal behavior; the effects of weather; traffic; and course conditions; and I waive any and all claims which I might have based on any of those and other risks typically found in a walk involving animals. I acknowledge all such risks are known and understood by me. I agree to abide by all decisions of any event official relative to my ability, and my dog's ability, to safely participate in and complete the event. I certify that I am physically able to complete this walk.
Dog Participation - If I bring a dog to this event, I agree that I am solely responsible for my dog at all times. I certify that my dog is current on all required vaccinations (including rabies), is in good health, is friendly and non-aggressive, and will remain under my control on a secure, non-retractable leash no longer than six (6) feet at all times. I agree to clean up after my dog and to provide proof of vaccination if requested. I accept full responsibility and liability for any injury, damage, or loss caused by my dog to any person, animal, or property, and I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the parties released above from any such claims. I understand that event officials may, at their sole discretion, require the removal of any dog that is aggressive, uncontrolled, ill, or otherwise poses a risk, and that all dogs participate at my own risk.
Vendor & Marketplace AreaI understand that this event includes an area with independent local vendors and booths. I acknowledge that these vendors are independent third parties, and that any purchase, product, service, or interaction with a vendor is solely between me and that vendor. The released parties are not responsible for the products, services, conduct, or transactions of any vendor. I assume all risks associated with entering the vendor and marketplace area, including crowds and the presence of other dogs.
In the event of an illness, injury, or medical emergency arising during the event, I hereby authorize and give my consent to the Event Director to secure from any accredited hospital, clinic, and/or physician any treatment deemed necessary for my immediate care. I agree that I will be fully responsible for payment of any and all medical services and treatment rendered to me — and any veterinary services rendered to my dog — including but not limited to transport, medications, treatment, and hospitalization.
Further, I grant permission to all the foregoing to use my name, voice, and images of myself and my dog in any photographs, motion pictures, results, publications, or any other print, videographic, or electronic recording of this event for legitimate purposes.
All entry fees are non-refundable. We reserve the right to postpone or cancel the event due to circumstances beyond our control such as a natural disaster or emergency, or as required to protect the safety of participants, dogs, and staff. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances. We reserve the right to change the details of the event without prior notice. I understand that my entry fee is non-refundable and my registration is non-transferable.
