PARTICIPANT WAIVER AND RELEASE
1. Assumption of Risk
I understand that participating in a road race involves inherent risks and can be a potentially hazardous activity. I understand that this event takes place during the winter and that weather and road conditions may be unpredictable or less than ideal. Conditions may include snow, ice, freezing or below-freezing temperatures, wet or slippery surfaces, snow-covered or partially cleared roads, uneven surfaces, and other winter-related hazards.

I voluntarily assume the risks associated with participating in this event, including, but not limited to, falls; slips; contact with other participants, spectators, volunteers, vehicles, or objects; traffic; weather conditions; road and course conditions; and the winter-related conditions described above. I understand that these and other risks associated with participation may result in injury, illness, property damage, disability, or death, and I knowingly and voluntarily accept these risks.

2. Release and Waiver of Claims
In consideration of being permitted to participate in this event, I, on behalf of myself and my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby release and forever discharge Wyoma Lions Club; the Event/Race Director; Bay State Race Services; RunSignup; the City of Lynn; the City of Peabody; Knights of Columbus, Lynn, Valladolid Council No. 70; event sponsors; event volunteers; police, fire, emergency medical services, and other municipal departments and personnel assisting with the event; and the respective officers, directors, members, employees, agents, and representatives of each of the foregoing (collectively, the “Released Parties”), from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, losses, or liabilities arising out of or related to my participation in the event, including claims for personal injury, illness, death, or loss of or damage to personal property and claims arising from the ordinary negligence of any of the Released Parties, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

For purposes of this Waiver and Release, participation in the event includes activities occurring before, during, and after the race that are related to the event, including, but not limited to, arrival at and departure from the event; parking; walking to and from parking areas; registration and check-in; use of event facilities; warm-up and cool-down activities; participation on the race course; and post-race activities. Participation does not include ordinary travel to or from the event.

This release does not apply to gross negligence, reckless conduct, or intentional misconduct to the extent such claims cannot legally be waived.

3. Participant Fitness and Responsibility
I understand that participation in this event can be physically strenuous. I certify that I am physically able and sufficiently trained to participate safely in the event. I understand that it is my responsibility to determine whether I am fit to participate and to take appropriate precautions based on my health, physical condition, training, weather conditions, and course conditions.

I agree to follow the instructions and decisions of race officials, event personnel, public safety personnel, and medical personnel concerning my participation in the event, including any decision that I should not start, continue, or complete the race for safety or medical reasons.

4. Emergency Medical Treatment
In the event of an illness, injury, or medical emergency related to my participation in the event, I authorize event personnel, race officials, public safety personnel, and emergency medical personnel to obtain or provide such emergency medical care and transportation as they reasonably determine to be necessary or appropriate.

I accept responsibility for any costs associated with medical care or transportation provided to me, to the extent those costs are not otherwise covered by insurance or another responsible party.

5. Event Changes, Cancellation, and Refund Policy
Registration fees are generally non-refundable.

I understand that the organizers may modify, delay, postpone, relocate, shorten, or cancel the event when reasonably necessary due to weather, snow or ice, unsafe road or course conditions, governmental or public safety directives, advisories, recommendations, or determinations concerning the safety or feasibility of the event, emergencies, or other circumstances beyond the organizers' reasonable control, or when reasonably necessary to protect the safety of participants, volunteers, event personnel, or the public.

I understand that I am not entitled to a refund if the event is modified, delayed, postponed, relocated, shortened, or canceled under these circumstances. The organizers may, at their sole discretion, offer refunds, credits, deferrals, or other accommodations, but are under no obligation to do so.

Bib transfers are permitted only with the approval of the organizers and must be reported to the organizers in advance so that participant and registration information can be updated. Participants may not give or transfer their bib to another person without notifying the organizers.

6. Photography and Media Release
I grant Wyoma Lions Club and its authorized representatives permission to photograph, video record, or otherwise record me in connection with the event and to use my name, image, likeness, voice, race results, and such photographs or recordings for purposes related to the event and the activities of Wyoma Lions Club, including promotional, informational, educational, archival, and social media purposes, without compensation to me.

7. Participant Acknowledgment
By submitting this registration, I acknowledge that I have carefully read and understand this Waiver and Release, including the assumption of risk, release of claims, and event cancellation and refund provisions. I understand that by agreeing to this Waiver and Release, I am giving up certain legal rights. I voluntarily agree to its terms.

8. Parent/Guardian Acknowledgment for Participants Under 18
If the participant is under 18 years of age, I certify that I am the participant's parent or legal guardian and that I have authority to provide consent on the participant's behalf. I have carefully read and understand this Waiver and Release and consent to the minor's participation in the event. I acknowledge and accept the risks associated with the minor's participation and agree to the terms of this Waiver and Release on behalf of myself and, to the extent permitted by law, on behalf of the minor participant.
