FOR PARTICIPANTS IN THE 2024 PINE RUN 20K
In consideration of you accepting this entry, I, the participant, intending to be legally bound do hereby waive and forever release any and all right and claims for damages or injuries that I may have against the Event Directors and all their agents and volunteers; RunSignup.com and all its agents; Gulf Winds Track Club (“GWTC”) and all its representatives, agents, and volunteers; and all sponsors and their representatives, volunteers, and employees for any and all injuries to me or my personal property. This release includes all injuries and/or damages suffered by me before, during, or after the event. I recognize, intend, and understand that this release is binding on my heirs, executors, administrators, or assignees.
I know that running a race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and run unless I am medically able to do so and properly trained. I assume all risks associated with running in this event including, but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather, traffic, and course conditions and waive any and all claims which I might have based on any of those and other risks typically found in running a trail race. I acknowledge all such risks are known and understood by me. I agree to abide by all decisions of any race official relative to my ability to safely complete the run. I certify as a material condition to my being permitted to enter this race that I am physically fit and sufficiently trained for the completion of this event.
In addition, I acknowledge the contagious nature of communicable diseases and voluntarily assume the risk that I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 and/or other communicable diseases by participating in this event. I acknowledge that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and/or death. I understand the risk in connection with my participation in this event and personally assume the risk.
In the event of an illness, injury, or medical emergency arising during the event, I hereby authorize and give my consent to the Event Directors and volunteers to secure any treatment deemed necessary for my immediate care. I agree that I will be fully responsible for payment of any and all medical services and treatment rendered to me including but not limited to medical transport, medications, treatment, and hospitalization.
By submitting this entry, I acknowledge (or a parent or adult guardian for all children under 18 years) having read and agreed to the above release and waiver.
Further, I grant permission to all the foregoing to use my name, voice, and images of myself in any photographs, motion pictures, results, publications, or any other print, videographic, or electronic recording of this event for legitimate purposes.
By indicating my consent via email confirmation or signing below I certify that: (1) I am the Parent/Guardian of the Child participant(s) listed on this document (including email) or I am an adult participant over 18 years of age; (2) I have fully read and understand the above terms and conditions and they apply to Child participant(s) and myself; (3) I understand that I am waiving important legal rights to recover damages for injury and/or property damage; (4) I agree I have been encouraged to seek the advice of my own attorney prior to signing this agreement; (5) I have read and voluntarily signed this agreement; and (6) no oral representations, statements, or inducements apart from the foregoing written agreement have been made.
NOTICE TO THE MINOR CHILD’S NATURAL GUARDIAN
READ THIS FORM COMPLETELY AND CAREFULLY. YOU ARE AGREEING TO LET YOUR MINOR CHILD ENGAGE IN A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ACTIVITY. YOU ARE AGREEING THAT, EVEN IF THE PINE RUN 20K USES REASONABLE CARE IN PROVIDING THIS ACTIVITY, THERE IS A CHANCE YOUR CHILD MAY BE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED BY PARTICIPATING IN THIS ACTIVITY BECAUSE THERE ARE CERTAIN DANGERS INHERENT IN THE ACTIVITY WHICH CANNOT BE AVOIDED OR ELIMINATED. BY SIGNING THIS FORM YOU ARE GIVING UP YOUR CHILD’S RIGHT AND YOUR RIGHT TO RECOVER FROM THE ABOVE NAMED RELEASEES IN A LAWSUIT FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY, INCLUDING DEATH, TO YOUR CHILD OR ANY PROPERTY DAMAGE THAT RESULTS FROM THE RISKS THAT ARE A NATURAL PART OF THE ACTIVITY. YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE TO SIGN THIS FORM, AND THE PINE RUN 20K HAS THE RIGHT TO REFUSE TO LET YOUR CHILD PARTICIPATE IF YOU DO NOT SIGN THIS FORM.
