The Course
Run4Kids 2025 course breakdown
- 0.1 miles dirt track
- 0.8 miles concrete/asphalt
- 0.2 miles graded smooth dirt trail
Each 1.1 mile loop will have 2 very short inclines (0.2 miles for each incline) with an approximate total of 45ft of gain for each. Race Director, Joe Nakamura says “The course is very runnable and feels really good due to the 90ft of gain being broken up into 2 very short climbs while the downhill is twice as long and very gradual. The downhill section is 0.4 miles and only descends about 90ft so it’s just enough to keep you rolling forward without feeling like you’re pounding.”
The first 0.1 miles of the course will be on the 400 meter dirt track. Runners will veer off the track before completing 200 meters where they will run on a mix of concrete and asphalt for the following 0.7 miles. At approximately the 0.8 mile mark runners will be on a smooth dirt path with an incline for 0.2 miles gaining 45ft. After which runners will be back on concrete for 0.1 miles completing the entire 1.12 mile loop course.
There will be a designated section along the course for runners to park their cars and set up their personal “aid stations” without having to deviate more than 2 feet off course. This designated area will begin at 0.5 miles from the start line to approximately 0.7 miles providing ample room for all our runners to set up. There will also be a number of portable toilets along the course and some open restroom facilities on campus.
