Frequently Asked Questions:
1. What is a virtual race?
In a virtual race you run the designated distance whenever it is most convenient for you within the given dates then enter your time.
2. How much is it?
This race has a low registration fee of $12.
3. I hate running, can I still contribute?
Yes! Each runner has the option to create a fundraiser page. You can go onto the website and pick your favorite racer to donate to.
4. How do I fundraise?
Upon registration you will be asked if you want to create your own fundraiser page. Please check that box if you’d like to fundraise. Your page will be shareable on social media with a few easy clicks. If you forgot to sign up to fundraise, find instructions on creating your page after you’ve registered under the FAQ tab on our website. Click “Create a Fundraiser” and watch the video.
5. Why should I fundraise?
You’ll get stuff! Raise $50 and you'll get an additional raffle entry. Raise $70 and you'll get your $12 registration fee refunded! If you are one of the top 4 fundraisers, you will receive a special prize (TBA)!
6. How is this money being used?
The money will go back to Wisconsin PT & PTA students, in the form of scholarships, programming, events, and financial aid for conference attendance.
7. Why should I participate?
Each participant will have one entry into a raffle for a variety of prizes. Prizewinners will be drawn and announced in an email newsletter at the close of the race on October 10.
8. How do I get my time and give my results?
You will time your own race. Once you’ve completed your race you can enter your results on our website by clicking “Submit Virtual Results” under the “Results” tab.
9. How do I know where to run?
We have used MapMyRun to create a 5K route around each of the following campuses: UW-Milwaukee, Madison, LaCrosse Campus or Marsh, Concordia, Marquette, Carroll. There are several routes that have been created for the Fall Conference as well.
10. Will there be a bib?
Yes! You will get an email with your bib number and the link to download and print your bib for race day. Use of a bib is optional.
11. I'm not a student, can I still participate?
Yes! Everyone can participate in this event. Whether you are a practicing PT, parent to a student, or even a past patient all are welcome!
