We will be accepting same day sign ups during registration! Please arrive by 8am if you would like to join us as a last minute sign up. Cash preferred ($40 registration fee). Please see information below for parking and other details! 

We’re getting excited to see you and your four-legged friends at the NC State SAVMA Howl-O-ween 5K! There is a very high chance of rain on Sunday- as long as there is no immediate risk (hurricane, etc) we will proceed with the race… rain or shine! Maybe bring an umbrella :) Here are a few reminders and details to help you get ready for race day.

Event Schedule – Sunday, October 11th

• 8:00 - 8-45 AM: Runner check-in begins and ends; please give yourself plenty of time to park, stretch, and get ready for a fun race 

• 9:00 AM: 5K begins

• 10:30AM: Best dressed costumes and raffle winners will be announced 

• Stick around to enjoy Vendor Village, raffles, photos, and more!

Fuel Up for the Morning

There will be free Starbucks coffee available to help get your morning started! There will also be free snacks and water for both people and dogs, so you and your four-legged running buddy can stay fueled and hydrated before, during, and after the event.

Vendor Village

Be sure to stop by Vendor Village before or after the race! We’ll have seven companies and two rescues in attendance, plus a variety of gift baskets representing other companies and organizations. This will be a great opportunity to meet local businesses, learn more about the rescues, and check out some of the items and giveaways available.

Costumes Encouraged!

Get into the early Halloween spirit! Costumes are welcome and encouraged for both people and pups. There will also be a photoshoot option at the event, so come dressed up and get a fun photo to remember the day! 50$ fleet feet gift cards will go to the best dressed dog and best dressed person. These will be announced at 10:30am. 

Participant Bandanas

Every pre-registered participant will receive a Howl-O-ween bandana to celebrate the event. Be sure to grab yours when you check in!

Raffles

Every runner will receive one raffle ticket with their sign up, with some really cool prizes up for grabs! When you check in, make sure you put your name on your raffle tickets so we know who to contact if you win. Additional raffle tickets will also be available for purchase if you’d like to increase your chances of winning! Tickets are sold in bundles of 5 for $5. 

Race Information

This is a fun, untimed 5K, so there is no pressure to race the clock! If you would prefer not to complete the full 5K, there will also be a shorter walking course option available. Feel free to choose the option that works best for you and your pup! A map of the layout is shared below, and there will be volunteers helping direct traffic along the way. There will be no area to place valuables so please keep that in mind.
