Kellogg Charity 5k

Hello all! 

Welcome to the Emily Kellogg Charity 5k event page - a virtual 5k during the month of October. 

Emily was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer in early 2025. This is a devastating diagnosis for anyone of any age, but unfortunately breast cancer is on the rise for women under 30 years old. Emily has always been an avid runner, and has continued to run during her weekly chemo treatments. In honor of her and her fight, we have organized this virtual 5k.

Emily has requested that all proceeds from the race go to Metavivor. Metavivor is a non profit that supports/funds stage four breast cancer research, which typically only gets 3-5% of all breast cancer research funding. This directly changes prognosis for everyone diagnosed with stage four breast cancer, as it helps improve treatment plans increase clinical trial availability. 

In honor of Emily and all breast cancer fighters, we would love for you to participate in any way you can - run, walk, promote this event on social media, or donate! This is a virtual event - run one day during the month of October and post your results on our website. We'd love if you could complete your run on Thursday as Emily typically fits in her runs Thursday morning before chemo.

We will not be charging a registration fee - we ask that you donate to the go fund me page here whatever you feel is a fair registration fee! This way all proceeds can go to Metavivor instead of processing fees. Additionally, you can donate directly to Metavivor here
