Live Music - Springtime Sunshine - Cold Drinks - Daufuskie Flavors - The running experience you've been waiting for. It all begins before the run - with an awesome water taxi ride from Hilton Head Island to Daufuskie Island - can you say dolphins!! Relax and enjoy the scenery as you coast along the beautiful waters that separate the Islands - full of dolphins and lowcountry flora and fauna. Once you arrive to Freeport Marina on Daufuskie Island, you'll have more time to relax and get ready for the 5K run that takes you through wild and remote Daufuskie Island. After your race is finished, plan on sticking around with our host the Old Daufuskie Crab Co. - they'll have live music, cold drinks, and the best seafood you'll find anywhere in the lowcountry. Whenever you are ready, we'll transport you back to Hilton Head Island on our water taxi and where you'll see plenty more wildlife and be relaxed by the sights and sounds of the water. We can't wait to host you at the Scrap Iron 5K!
We highly recommend you book the event W/ WATER TAXI. There is limited dock space at Freeport Marina and docking spaces are FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVE. If you opt for your own transportation to Daufuskie Island, we can't guarantee a space for your boat and we no refund is available.
