Race Info
Why run down when you can run up?
GTC Upville Mile is a 1-mile, uphill-only road race in Paris Mountain State Park, on the steepest part of Paris Mountain State Park Road. The route is one of the toughest, if not the toughest uphill 1-mile road segments in the Upstate, including nearby Altamont Road, and the road going up Sassafras Mountain.
If you like a running challenge, this event may be just the ticket for you. Don't be surprised though if you find it necessary to do at least a couple short walk breaks. It's recommended you practice on this route before you race on it.
With an average grade of 8.2%, and elevation gain of 460 feet in just a mile, it surely will not disappoint.
