JL Mann's Race for a Reason

J. L. Mann High School Key Club will host our second Race for a Reason, a 5K Color Run/Walk at 9:00 am on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at J.L. Mann High School starting on the track. We are joining forces this year with the Student Council Group at our school during spirit week for their campaign to raise money for Cole's Victory Lap and beat Greenville High, our rival school. Cole's Victory Lap is a non-profit with a mission to make the journey of pediatric cancer patients, their families, and caregivers more manageable. The organization has four core directives: providing snacks and drinks for patients undergoing chemotherapy, supplying kid-friendly sheets and apple TVs to pediatric hospital rooms, having photography sessions for families battling cancer, and ultimately, supporting a permanent space for pediatric hematology and oncology in Greenville. Money raised will directly support Cole's Victory Lap's missions, which are making a difference in the lives of children with cancer in the Upstate of South Carolina. On average, 50-75 new pediatric cancer diagnoses occur each year in the region, with over 500 children receiving ongoing treatments at any given time. Your support will bring comfort and memories to families in our community fighting this terrible disease. The cost to register is $10.
