Welcome to the 6th Annual Paris Mountain Race Series. Paris Mountain is the hidden gem in the Upstate that lies in between the beautiful mountains of the foothills! This trail system extends nearly 16 miles of wide and rugged running dream! At the base of the mountain you will loop around Lake Placid before heading north up the mountain on Mountain Creek trail into Sulphur Springs! This is where the grit of the trail begins and your heart rate rises! Going around the mountain to North Lake and down Kanuga before hitting the toughest portion of Brissy Ridge. This trail will make your legs burn but your adventurous trail junkie side yearning for more! Come see this well kept secret of the Upstate for yourself!

Participant Information

Packet Pickup

Packet Pickup will be held Friday at New Balance Store Woodruff between 4pm and 8pm. During packet pickup YOU will check in before you pick up your race bib, and giveaway item (shirt, hat, or socks). At 6pm we will have an opportunity shakeout run of 20 minutes before raffling off some sponsor items and enjoying some beer from Brewery 85. Bibs and swag can then be retrieved prior to the race start at shelter #3 about an hour before the each individual event. 

Address/Parking State Park

Runners can enter the park at the following address: 2401 State Park Rd, Greenville, SC 29609. The gate will be open for entry at 6:30am. Please have $5 per participant and spectator as the park admission fee. Follow the main road to the first stop sign where the main parking lot will be located to the left. Please make the short walk back behind the main parking lot to shelter #3 where the start and finish of the race will be located. Runners may have a drop bag and personal aid station table alongside shelter #3 behind the steps to the timing table. Please NO PARKING alongside the road at shelter #3. 

Course Markings

The course will have a series of directional arrows (both yellow and green) that will be placed  at various intersections. Please follow all directional arrows to stay on course. In the event that you make a wrong turn please backtrack to your original spot of confusion. Cutting the course (even if unintentionally will lead to a disqualification)

Course Cutoff

The 50k race has a 10 hour cutoff starting at 7:30am and ending at 5:30pm. Runners must complete the first 25k loop by Noon. Runners who come in after noon will be dropped to the 25k race and will find their result there. All runners who need to stop their race for whatever reason before finishing please return your chip tag to someone at the timing table and indicate that you are pulling out of the event. Thank you.

Paris Mountain 25k/50k Course - Course Map HERE

The 50k will consist of two 15.5 mile loops starting and finishing at Shelter #3. The total distance covers 8,500 feet of elevation change, goes around 3 different lakes, ascends 3 gentle climbs, and culminates with a wicked cool finisher patch and some pancakes with piping hot maple syrup! You may see deer, squirrels, birds, snakes, and a variety of other wildlife. The course offers single track dirt, rugged and wide switchbacks, along with steep climbs. There are two damn built waterfalls and 3 beautiful lakes. The course does have a 1 mile section of road.

Aid Stations

There are three aid stations on course during the 15 mile loop. These locations are Mile 4.5 (Brissy Ridge and Sulfur Springs Parking Lot) Mile 11 (Camp Buckhorn Gate) - Mile 15.5. The Aid station will include such items: salt, crackers, cookies, pickles, oranges, water , tailwind, and soda. This is a CUPLESS event as runners are required to have their own hydration carrying bottles or packs. Our aid station volunteers are not there to service your every need so be self reliant. The aid station at the end is ONLY for 50k runners. If you are running the 25k please enjoy our ready to serve pancakes but please leave the aid station food and broth for our runners running the 2 loop course.

Admission Fee

There is a cost to enter the park for runners and spectators. $5 adults; $3.25 SC seniors (age 65 & older); $3/ child age 6-15; Free for children 5 and younger. This admission includes access to our designated swimming area when it is open. Along with our admission fee we welcome any donation to the state park directly through the link provided during checkout. 

Camping: Reservations

There are 39 sites are paved, 13 of which offer tent pads. Each site has individual water and electrical hookups. Some sites accommodate RVs up to 40 feet, others up to 35 feet. The campground is convenient to restroom facilities with hot showers. Camping reservations must be made for a minimum of two nights. Standard Sites with Electricity & Water

Cancellation Policy & Refund

We will give a 48 hour advance notice of cancellation. In the event of a cancellation you will be given the option to defer your registration to next year with a 2 week window for deferral after the next years event has been scheduled and runners have been notified via email. We plan ahead by purchasing insurance, food, bibs, patches, awards, shirts, and facility rentals. We will go ahead and donate your entry to our park system. Thank you
