SSgt Jason Hicks Memorial 5k

We’re excited to announce the 2026 SSgt Jason Hicks Memorial 5k.  This race is in its 14th year.  All proceeds benefit the SSgt. Jason Hicks Memorial Scholarship Fund. Jason and five other US Air Force Combat Search and Rescue airmen were killed in action while on a humanitarian mission in Afghanistan in 2003 as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. Since then, the Scholarship has been awarded annually to a graduating senior from Central High School in Pageland, SC, which was Jason’s alma mater.

Any Central High School graduating senior may apply for the Scholarship.  Applicants should demonstrate leadership abilities and community service.  A Scholarship application for the current school year can be printed by clicking the application link on this site.

• 7:30 AM      Late Race Registration

• 9:15 AM      Pre Race Ceremnoy

• 9:25 AM      Registration Closes

• 9:30 AM      Race Begins

• 11:00 AM    Post-Race Festivities and BBQ Chicken Lunch (Non-racers may purchase a meal ticket for $10).

Packet Pickup:

• Each participant will receive a packet with their race number, their t-shirt (if purchased), admission ticket to post race lunch, and some other goodies. Race packets will be available for pickup at the Pageland Community Center beginning at 7:30 a.m. the morning of the 5k.
