Ribaut Run has a rescheduled date - June 8th 2024

Hello Runners - The run was postponed because of lightening and heavy rain on the originally scheduled date of March 9, 2024. A new date of June 8, 2024 is now set with course details identical to what was planned for the March 9th date. If you registered for March 9th, you are automatically registered now for June 8th. If you picked up a packet (t-shirt and bib), you still need to come by packet pick-up on June 7th and get a new bib #. If you didn't pick up your packet, then there will be a full packet (t-shirt & bib) for you at pick-up. Good luck to all the runners on June 8th!

Description
Join us on Saturday, June 8th to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the incorporation of the charming Town of Port Royal in the beautiful Lowcountry of South Carolina. The first annual Ribaut Run is named for Jean Ribaut, French explorer and ship captain who named Port Royal in 1562. Describing it as "No Fayrer Fytter Place", Ribaut's name and legacy are being honored in this run.
Start and end the race at the town's popular Live Oaks park and run along tree-lined roads to Sands beach, passing historic homes and landmarks. In celebration of the 150th, The Naval Hospital Beaufort is opening its gates for the 10k race, allowing runners to experience 1.18 miles through the hospital grounds. This includes a historic view of the Beaufort River, adjacent to Camp Saxton and the site of one of the earliest public readings of the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1 1863 at the Smith Plantation.
The race is sponsored by the Town of Port Royal and the Historic Port Royal Foundation. Grounded Running is assisting with race management and providing timing. June 8th is the rescheduled date after the original date of March 9th was cancelled due to lightning.
Packet pickup will be available at Grounded Running located at 2139 Boundary Street, Beaufort, SC on Friday June 7th from 10:00am-5:00pm and Saturday morning at the Live Oaks starting line from 7:00-7:30am. Runners who already picked up March 9 packets will still need to pick up new big numbers.
Race Day Awards: Medals/pendants will be given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Male and Female finishers overall and in each age group. Certificates from local merchants may also be presented to top finishers.
Please note that T-shirts are not guaranteed for late registrations after June 3rd and registration for this event is NOT REFUNDABLE.
Online registration ends June 6 at 4pm. Registration after this time is discouraged but, if needed, can be done in-person from 3-5 pm on June 7 at Grounded Running.
