This will be an accurately measured, single loop race around outer perimeter inside the gated Santee Cooper Resort community.  The race begins on the road on Santee Drive in front of the golf course club house.  The route will be run CCW, facing traffic. Santee Drive becomes Saluda Drive.  The only turn is left at the stop sign turning back onto Santee Drive from Saluda (about mile 1.3).  Follow Santee Drive back to the club house and up into the parking loop to the finish chute to complete the 5k.  There were be one water stop at about the 1.6 mile mark.  We will have volunteers at the turn as well as making sure no one makes an inadvertent turn on one of the side streets.  There will be a pace cart in front and one in back as well as volunteers ahead of any blind curves to alert traffic to your presence.  PLEASE keep to the far left, facing traffic at all times! This is for your safety, and also it is the shortest route around the course, so there is no advantage to running on the right.
