About the Race
This event aims to raise funds for the Vulnerable Adult Fund, to support South Carolina adults aged 18 and older who have experienced abuse, neglect, or exploitation and are in the custody of the South Carolina Department of Social Services. The Vulnerable Adult Fund is a program under the Vulnerable Adult Guardian ad Litem (VAGAL SC).
Funds raised from the event will help vulnerable adults improve their quality of life by providing blankets, clothing, shoes, entertainment, communication devices, and much more.
SCDOA — The South Carolina Department on Aging (SCDOA) enhances the quality of life for seniors in South Carolina. The SCDOA works with 10 regional Area Agencies on Aging and a network of local organizations to develop and manage services that help seniors remain independent in their homes and in their communities.
VAGAL SC — The Vulnerable Adult Guardian ad Litem (VAGAL SC) program provides guardians ad litem for vulnerable adults who have been abused, neglected, or exploited. The program has served more than 4,500 adults since 2011.
