Description
Zombies are coming to Lead, SD on October 7th! Get your running shoes on and grab your survival team because you don't want to miss this spooky event!
The Zombie Run is a zombie-infested 3-mile untimed run/walk with obstacles and crazy terrain throughout the community of Lead. Throughout the course, there will be Undead Zones where Zombies have taken over and runners will need to get through these Zombie Zones “Alive” to survive. This is a 100% charity run for Northern Hills Alliance for Children. Runners registering prior to September 16th will receive special Early Bird pricing!

- Ages 7 and under- race free! Must be accompanied by an adult
- Ages 8-17 - $20 registration through September 15th, rises to $25 registration through October 6th. Racers 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
- Ages 18 and older - $30 registration through September 15th, rises to $40 registration through October 6th

- All registrants using this discount code are required to show up for a special Zombie safety briefing prior to the beginning of the event. Zombie registrants who do not attend the safety briefing will not be allowed to participate and will not be issued a refund.
The Gory Details:
At the start of the course, human runners will be given a flag football belt (life belt) with 3 flags (lifelines) on it. During the course, Zombies will try to take these flags from you. You are a survivor if you get to the finish line with a least 1 flag. If you have no flags at the finish line, you have died, and become the Undead. Our post-apocalypse volunteers will help direct you through the courses. Beware; a few zombies may have escaped the Zombie zones, wandering around looking for fresh food!
On the day of the event, check-in will start at 12:30 P.M. at the Sanford Lab Visitors Center parking lot. Runners and Zombies will be bussed from there to the starting areas for each group. The first wave of runners starts at 1:30 P.M. with waves following every 10 minutes. Runners should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their start time to receive flag belts. Zombies must arrive no later than 12:30 P.M. to attend a mandatory zombie meeting and be transported to your Zombie zone.
Runners and zombies under 14 years of age must be accompanied by a paid adult for the entire event. Runners and zombies 14-17 years of age MUST bring a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
Once registered, there will be no refunds, as we will be ordering t-shirts, medals, etc. far ahead of time, and closing waves as they fill. Please plan for all types of weather. The event will only be rescheduled due to SEVERE weather that closes Northern Black Hills area highways and interstate roads.
