📍 Good Earth State Park at Blood Run
26924 480th Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57108
Get ready for a morning of trail running, community, and one of the most unique outdoor spaces in our region.
Good Earth State Park at Blood Run is more than a beautiful place to run. The area is one of the oldest sites of long-term human habitation in the United States and holds significant cultural and historical importance. Its location along the river, abundant wildlife, fertile flood plains, availability of pipestone, and natural protection made the area an important gathering and trading place for tribal peoples for centuries.
We’re excited to share this incredible park with you and can’t wait for race morning!

4.5-Mile Route Map
This route has one left turn; otherwise you will turn right when given the choice. We'll start at the visitor center and head down the south hill. At the bottom of the hill is our one left turn. This will take you on the river view loop. After the river view loop you'll stay right on the trail and run past the flood plain loop and head toward the prairie view loop. Run the prairie view loop and work your way back to the flood plain loop (keep turning right). After the flood plain loop you'll run the river view loop in reverse and eventually head back up the south hill. Once at the top of the hill you are straight on back to the visitor center.
8-Mile Route
The first half of the route is shared with the 4.5 mile run. The first half of the route has one left turn; otherwise you will turn right when given the choice. Once at the top of the hill you'll take a right hand turn; this starts the second half of the run which includes one more left hand turn. Run the majority of the top gravel loop (you'll not do the out-and-back segment that overlooks the river view loop). You'll head down the basswood trail and at the bottom of the hill you'll take a right onto the cottonwood loop. Once you complete the cottonwood loop you'll take a right turn and run the oak loop. The oak loop will take you up to the prairie ridge loop. At the end of the prairie ridge loop is the second left hand turn that you'll make during this route. This takes you to the Lommen trail which is a fun hill to run down (be careful). At the bottom of the hill you'll once again turn right. Head back up the basswood trail and at the top of the hill stay right to complete the top gravel loop. from here it is straight on to the visitor center to finish the race.
