FAQs

What's included in the registration fee?

Your registration fees get you a participation medal and a race T-shirt, provided you registered early enough. The T-shirt size can be selected during check-out based on our current inventory. T-shirts are available on a first-come first-served basis! We printed 400 shirts. The design is the same for the 5K run and 3K walk. Your fees also go to race timing & management, permitting, restrooms, insurance, and all of the logistics to make a race fun, safe and successful.

What is the route of the run/walk?

The 5K route follows the river path north to Discovery Park where it turns around and comes back. The 3K turns around north of Robert Matsui Waterfront Park. See the course information page for a course map and parking locations.

Where and when do I pick up my race packet?

Pick up your packet with bib and T-shirt on Friday June 12 from 10am to 5:45pm from Fleet Feet Sacramento. Race-day pickup is 7:30am to 8:15am. See full details on the packet pickup page.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive by 8:00 AM to grab a snack, warm up, and find your spot. Orange Theory Midtown's body pump crew will be on-site to graciously lead us through a warm up to boost our positive energy! Start times will stagger 1-min apart beginning 8:40 am.

How do I get there and where do I park?

Check out the course & parking page for a map of parking locations and travel options. Be aware that a travel advisory is in effect for full lane closures on East-bound traffic from the west side of the river (see CalTrans update).

What should I wear?

Pride is by nature a festive, bright and fun event. We encourage you to wear a comfortable pair of shoes and to bring your most fabulous costume to match! Participants who dress in costume will be entered into a raffle prize. See more details on the costume raffle page.

What is happening after the run/walk?

After the run we will hold the award ceremony for age and gender brackets. Afterward is the Sacramento Pride Fest.

Will there be drinks and snacks?

We will have water stations at the beginning and half-way point for the runners. Simple snacks will be available before the race. Mountain Mike's Pizza on S St will be handing out pizza and beverages after our run, starting about 9am!

Will restrooms be available?

Yes, portable restrooms are available at the starting point. Discovery Park public restrooms are available at the 5K turnaround location.

Is there a foot locker available?

We will not have storage available for your keys, phone, wallet, or extra clothes, etc. Please plan accordingly.

Can dogs participate?

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed to participate. Most race insurance policies forbid dogs in their terms of service. Additionally, the logistics of the course make leashed dogs a challenge due to the minimum trail width. Dogs are welcome at the start/finish line.

Can I bring my child's stroller on the 3K walk?

Due to the course logistics which has some uneven terrain and narrow sections, we regret that strollers are not allowed on the course.

Is the event beginner-friendly?

Absolutely! 5K races are a perfect entry point for beginning runners. We also have a 3K walk option if you aren't sure. Hydration stations are available at the start/end of the event as well as at the halfway point.

Is this a family-friendly event?

Yes, all ages are welcomed. However, strollers are forbidden on the course. Some music may contain explicit lyrics.

Where can my friends, family or the public spectate?

Spectators can watch the race from the start/finish line near Delta King, from Robert Matsui Waterfront Park, or from Discovery Park (5K racers only) near the Jibboom Street Bridge. Spectators should be in place between 8:40 am and 9:30 am.

Who is organizing this event?

The presenting sponsor of this event is Sacramento FrontRunners, a local chapter of an international organization dedicated to promoting health and fitness within the LGBTQ community. We are proudly sponsored by numerous local businesses, with a special acknowledgement to Ryan Maguire State Farm Agent. We are also excited to be part of Sacramento Running Association's CommUNITY Run Series.
