About Us

The San Diego Liver Walk is a program of the Liver Coalition of San Diego.  We are a local organization formed in 2020 by medical specialists, transplant surgeons, patients, and caregivers to promote liver health and meet the needs of those affected by liver disease in San Diego County. Funds raised stay in San Diego to support community-based educational programs and services.

Jaxxon Naksue’s Story: A Little Warrior’s Fight Against Biliary Atresia

Born in 2021, Jaxxon Naksue Douangsouphonh-Johnson quickly faced a life-threatening battle with biliary atresia, undergoing surgery at just 32 days old and spending years on feeding tubes, hospital stays, and the transplant list. In July 2023, his mother became his living donor, giving him 30% of her liver in a successful transplant that transformed his future. Today, Jaxxon is thriving—riding bikes, practicing martial arts, and enjoying the childhood his family once only prayed for. True to his Laotian middle name Naksue, meaning “warrior,” he embodies strength, resilience, and hope every single day.
