  • Triangle shaped bouys will mark the turns.
  • Swimmers must go around the Triangle bouys.
  • This is a time triall start, with swimmers entering the water every 2-3 seconds.
  • Self staging, meaning faster swimmers may stage towards the front.
  • Swim caps are mandatory - they will be provided at packet pickup.

Sprint - Bike Course

  • The bike course takes place on some of the most familiar and popular roads for Raleigh area cyclists.
  • The course is a lollipop design; 5 miles out to the start of the loop - a 10 mile loop - and then 5 miles back to the finish.
  • At Bruce Garner Road, Sprint participants will turn RIGHT, while the International participants will turn left.
  • While traveling south on Bruce Garner Road (turns into New Light Road), the International participants will eventually merge onto New Light Road from the left side (this is at mile 12). Be mindful of International cyclists merging from the left.
  • The course features good pavement, not a lot of traffic, and some good hills.

Sprint - Run Course

  • The run course takes place entirely inside Sanding Beach Park, so this is a closed course - no traffic.
  • The Sprint run course is a one loop course- all on the paved park roads.
  • There will be aid stations every mile.
  • The course is relatively flat.
