Seeing Eye Doggy Dash Walk & 5K Run

EVENT QUESTIONS

Is this a USATF sanctioned event?
Yes, the 5k course is USATF certified and the event is USATF sanctioned & 500 Grand Prix Points. USATF Members will receive a $3 discount for the 5k registration until 8/27.

What are the award categories?
The first three (3) Male and Female Overall will be awarded then the following Age Groups M/F will be observed: 14&Under, 15-19, 20-80+ in 10yr increments.

Where do I check-in/pick up my race day packet?
If you register online before 9/6, you can pick up your packet at The Seeing Eye at 1 Seeing Eye Way, Morristown, N.J. between 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday, September 6. 5k participants who pick up their packets on 9/6 may report directly to the start line at Lidgerwood Park on race day. If you wait until race day to pick up your packet/check-in, then you must go to the Vail Mansion Lawn on race day. All 1-mile walk participants must report to the Vail Mansion Lawn on event day.

How far is the Vail Mansion from Lidgerwood Park?
The Vail Mansion Lawn is a 15-minute walk, or .7 miles from the race start/finish line at Lidgerwood Park so if you are registering or checking in at the event, please allow time to make it to the start line. Shuttles will be available starting at 8am and running every 10 minutes. Please note, check-in and registration for the 5k will end at 9 AM on race day. 

Is there a rain date?
Doggy Dash is rain or shine. In the event of a rain delay or cancellation (due to severe weather), an update will be posted on the main page. 

Are dogs welcome at the Doggy Dash?
Yes! Your pet dog is welcome to participate in the 1-mile walk, however, pets are NOT allowed to participate in the 5k. Please review the rules for pet dog participation by clicking here.

I can't/ don't want to attend. Can I still have a fundraiser?
Yes! Click the "Donate" tab on the left menu and then select "Become a Fundraiser" to set up your page in a few easy steps.

I don't want to run or walk. Can I participate in the other activities?
Yes, we will have free activities: Seeing Eye puppies to meet and greet, and there will be a free face painter.

Do I need to register my Seeing Eye puppy for this event?
No, however, puppy raisers should check with their area coordinators to make sure this event is appropriate for their puppy. The question about pet dog participation in the online registration form does not apply to Seeing Eye dogs or Seeing Eye puppies.

 

FUNDRAISER QUESTIONS

Can I set up a fundraiser if I don't plan to attend your event?
Yes, you can sign up to be a fundraiser for no charge and still earn the fundraising benefits for each level except for the participant refund at the $100 level. Click the "Donate" tab on the left menu and then select "Become a Fundraiser" to set up your page in a few easy steps.

Can I collect cash and checks for my fundraiser?
Yes, you can collect cash and write us a personal check for the funds. Please provide us with the donor’s name, address, and contact information for acknowledgement purposes. You can also ask them to make a check out to The Seeing Eye and mail that to us on their behalf, or ask them to mail it and include your name and Doggy Dash in memo line. Will I get credit for donations that I collect via cash and check?
Yes, you can log in to your personal fundraising page and add these as offline donations to ensure that you receive credit. All donations will be verified before fundraising prizes are delivered.
