1. What is the Snowshoe for the Cure™?
The Snowshoe for the Cure™ is a virtual fitness event that offers a one day event of three distances to choose from and a 25-mile three-week long challenge.
February 27 - March 20, 2021. You can log your miles throughout the entire period. The event benefits Susan G. Komen and those impacted by breast cancer through your fundraising dollars.
2. Where do I complete my virtual challenge?
Anywhere! The beauty of a virtual event is you can complete it wherever you are. As a bonus, our friends at the Frisco Nordic Center/Town of Frisco are generously offering registered participants one complimentary snowshoe trail pass for either the Chickadee(2k) or Snowshoe Hare(5k) trails between February 27th and March 20th. 
3. If we are planning to snowshoe at the Frisco Nordic Center (616 Recreation Way, Frisco, CO 80443), what do we need to know?

  • The Nordic Center building at the trails is closed to guests
  • Trail check-in is being handled at an outdoor 10x10 tent
  • Masks are required at check-in
  • Courtesy to wear mask on the trails especially when not 6ft distanced from other trail users
  • Registered participants should show the tent attendants (either phone or printed) the registration confirmation email
  • 1 Complimentary access during event challenge period Feb 27th - March 20th
  • The Frisco Nordic Center is open 7 days a week
  • Trail reservations are not required
  • Daily Hours 9:00am - 4:00pm
  • Snowshoes are available for $20 rentals - limited and first come first served
  • *Last call for snowshoe rentals will be 2:00pm each day

4. What distances are offered?
2k, 5k, and 7k distances are available for the 1-day Snowshoe for the Cure™. The Blizzard Challenge asks registrants to take on 25 miles during the challenge period of February 27 - March 20, 2021.
5. What activities can I do to complete my race? Do I have to snowshoe?
While snowshoeing embodies the spirit of our event, physical fitness is at our heart. We encourage everyone to snowshoe whether you are a seasoned snowshoer or a novice, but participants have the opportunity to complete the virtual events by cross country skiing, running, walking, or cycling. Another perk of a virtual event!
6. What is included with a registration for the 2021 Snowshoe for the Cure™ and Blizzard Challenge?
Registration for both events includes a neck gaiter, knit cap, participant bib, finisher medal, mile tracker app, and digital finisher certificate.  The Blizzard Challenge also includes a long-sleeve t-shirt. 
7. How do I get my swag?
We have four dates at three different Boulder Running Company locations when participants can pick up their event swag.
--> Wednesday, March 17 at Cherry Creek store (2500 E 1st Ave, Denver, CO 80206) from 4pm-7pm
--> Thursday, March 18 at Boulder store (2775 Pearl St, Boulder, CO 80302) from 4pm-7pm
--> Friday, March 19 at Colorado Springs store (3659 Austin Bluffs Parkway, Colorado Springs, CO 80918) from 4pm-7pm
--> Saturday, March 20 at Cherry Creek store (2500 E 1st Ave, Denver, CO 80206) from 11am-3pm
Registrants can also pay for a packet mailing upgrade for $15. Packets will be mailed in March. We are unable to guarantee a shipping date to ongoing stock and shipping issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
8. How do I use the RaceJoy app?
Check out our RaceJoy page for all the details. The app can be downloaded from your android or Apple device's app store for free.
9. Do I have to use the RaceJoy app? Can I use another app like MapMyRun, Strava, etc?
While you'll miss the fun audio messages delivered to your ears... Yes, you can use whichever app you prefer. You will still need to log your miles through RunSignUp in order to have your progress and results displayed with your fellow challengers.

11. How do I fundraise for Susan G. Komen?
Within the registration form, RunSignUp will ask if you want to become a fundraiser. You can set your goal and customize your page with your story, why you are fundraising, and photos. Through your profile, you can manage your page and invite people in your circles to support you. 12. How do I access my fundraising settings and make changes?

13. Does my registration fee go to Susan G. Komen?
The majority of your registration fee covers the cost of hosting the virtual event platform and registration items through High Altitude Special Events. For a larger percentage of your registration fee to go to Susan G. Komen use promo code ‘KOMENCO’ during check out.  
14. Where can I track our team's progress for the Blizzard Challenge miles?

15.  Where can I view our team's fundraising progress?
