Event Timing & Scoring
SCEM&T can provide professional event timing for your event. There are three levels of timing available. For small races, typically under 300 runners, we can provide Gun Shot Start to Chip Finish. Larger races or races with a narrow start, we can provide Chip Start to Chip Finish. With the Gun Shot option all runners receive the same start time. In smaller races or races with a wide start, where all the runners cross the start line within 60 seconds, Gun Shot start is the more economical option. Chip Start to Chip Finish provides runners an actual start time based on when they cross the start line. If it tales two minutes for the last runner to cross the start line, than their time is calculated based on when they crossed the start line to when they cross the finish line.
Final results are provided to the race director within minutes after the last runner crosses the finish line. Interim res are posted periodically during the race. Results will be posted on the SCEM&T web page and other local race running web pages. An electronic version of the results will be provided to the race director to post on their web page.
A less expensive option for small races (<200 runners) is what we call manual timing and scoring using the "Henry Campbell" scoring card system. Runners fill out a card. You provide volunteers who we train to sort the cards. Results take about 45 minutes after the cards are handed in. The race director or designee/s will be responsible to enter the results in an excel spreadsheet for posting on the various web page results page. This option requires 7 volunteers.
A good option for many of you is to let us manage the event. We have years of experience in it and will make your race a success. This usually means that you obtain sponsors, have T-shirts printed, and create a flier, but we will get your event listed on race calendars, manage race day planning, set up the finish line, provide chip scoring, and provide you with results. Our level of participation is fully negotiable, from doing it all to you doing most of it, but us helping you organize the event. There are so many things to coordinate. A first time race director doesn't
stand a chance of getting it all right. Let us help! Services can include:

Mentoring
Want to do it yourself, but maybe need a little help with what is required to pull off a great race? We are more than willing to provide mentoring for a fee. We can provide you check lists, explain all of the things you need to do, and then provide whatever level of services are helpful to you. The fee is fully dependent on our level of participation, but we will train you in the process and help you pull off a race like a pro, not like a first time race director!
Finish Line & Clock
We can provide you with a quality finish line and clock.We also provide custom made finish lines with your branding and sponsors added into the design.
