2025 NFM Impact
The funds provided by last years event allowed us to donate $2,000 to the South Michigan Food Bank (who provides meals to families across South Michigan), $2,000 to the Mission Hope Cancer Fund (who provide direct financial assistance to cancer patients in Michigan), $1,500 to VFW Post 4187 (the last surviving Post in Lenawee County) and $800 to Custers First Stand (a club located on Fort Custer where Soldiers can relax between training). Funds were also utilized to purchase personal protective equipment, books for curriculum and turnaround signs for the Officer Candidate School Program. This equipment will be able to be utilized by current and future Candidates. We also received over 500 lbs of donated food from participants, which went to the South Michigan Food Bank.

The Michigan Army National Guard Officer Candidate School and 177th Regional Training Institute are proud to announce we have partnered again with the South Michigan Food Bank. Traditionally, units who host a Norwegian Foot March conduct it in unison with a food drive. We can't tell you to donate anything, but an Army without a community is nothing and our community can use some help. All we ask is one bag from each participant. Some folks even utilize the donated goods as weight for their ruck. You can too or just donate.
Last year, thanks to the efforts of those who participated and supported the event, we were able to donate $2,000 and over 500 lbs of food. This donation was able to provide 14,608 to families across 8 counties in southern Michigan.
Top requests are: cereal, peanut butter, grains – pasta, rice, ramen, canned meats, canned veggies & fruits, mac & cheese. Essentially non-perishable items preferred.
