Join us for the 2nd Annual Connected Community 5K Run/Walk proudly powered by Bridge Bedford — where families, schools, and community move forward together!
Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 9th, 2026, and be a part of this exciting event that supports vital local initiatives and benefits the Shelbyville and Bedford communities. With sixteen (16) K-12 schools in the district, your participation will make a meaningful impact on the lives of countless students.
This event is open to everyone, celebrating our community's diversity and unity. We proudly welcome participants of all abilities, including those with disabilities, ensuring an inclusive, supportive, and accessible environment for all. Come walk, roll, or run, and be part of this special day!

The race will begin and end on the Historic Shelbyville Square:

Packet Pickup
All participants must pick up their race packets (bib number, t-shirt) prior to the start of the race. You will be required to show your registration confirmation email and a photo ID to pick up your race packet (ID will not be required for minors).
School Team Packet Pickup:
If you register under a School Team, you will receive additional information closer to race day regarding pre-race packet pickup times and locations specific to your school. If you do not pick up your race packet during the designated school pickup time, packets will be available for pickup at the general pre-race packet pickup on Friday, May 8th.
General Pre-Race Packet Pickup:
When: Friday, May 8th, 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Race Day Packet Pickup
Race day packet pickup will open at 7:00 AM, but we highly encourage runners to pick-up their packets prior to race day to avoid long waits and potential start delays.
Results & Awards
5K participants will be able to access their results online after the race. The 1 Mile and Kid’s Fun Run races are not timed.
5K StudentAwards
Awards will be given to the top male & female 5K finisher in each grade:
- Elementary School (Grades K – 5)
- Middle School (Grades 6-8)
- High School (Grades 9-12)
5K Adult Awards
Awards will be given to the top male & female 5K finisher in each age group as follows: 20–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, 70–74, 75–79, and 80 and over
