What is RaceJoy?

RaceJoy is an event tracking app that can be used to enhance your event experience.  It uses the GPS in your phone to track your progress as you run and, if you enter in your bib number, it can automatically publish your results when you are done!  Check out more about RaceJoy here.  You can still use a fitness activity tracking app at the same time (such as Garmin or an Apple Watch).  In fact, it is encouraged.  RaceJoy should be considered an 'event tracking app' (tracking your progress and submitting your finish time) while your fitness app is tracking your actual activity (tracking your heart rate and steps, etc...).

Do I have to run with my phone?

No.  However, since this is a virtual event, you will need to keep track of your time and enter it manually.  You can use any activity tracking to record your progress and submit your results here. Make sure you select the correct event / distance.
