3rd Annual Fundraiser, Walk & Resource Fair

One great cause impacting more than 33,000 individuals with Autism and their families

10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

 

EVENT DAY GUIDE 2024

 

Thank you for participating in the Step Into Autism Walk and Resource Fair.
We can't wait to Walk with you AGAIN! 
 
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
(Schedule and activities are subject to change) 

10:00 a.m. | Event Starts
  • Check in at the ASGA table for your Goodie Bag and Streamer. One bag per family please.
  • If you haven’t registered yet, you can do so when you arrive. Look for the registration QR code at the Welcome table.
  • Pick-up your Family Passport to visit participating exhibitors. Once you have all your stops initialed, stop at the ASGA tent to pick a prize from the Treasure Chest.
  • Grab some Kona Ice. It’s another way to support ASGA. Kona Ice is donating 20% of their sales to the event.
  • Visit the Resource Fair and get valuable information for you and your family
  • Stop at the Game Zone sponsored by REM and try your hand at games for all ages and sizes, see friendly faces, and get ready to walk!
  • Visit the Safety Zone sponsored by FirstEnergy for information on elopement and water safety and get your free window safety decal.
  • Don’t miss the Health Zone sponsored by Akron Children’s and pick up your Sensory Vaccine bag.
  • Take a selfie of you and your team at the photo booth.
  • Take a photo with the Autism Awareness Leppo Boom
10:20 a.m. | Team Rally before the walk - Welcome, Warm-Up, and Celebrations
  • Get ready to cheer for your team! Hold your team signs up and wave your streamers to cheer for Autism!
10:30 a.m. | WE WALK! Walk around the beautiful paths of McKinley Monument Park
  • Start your walk at the balloon arch.
  • Follow signage through the park. 
11:00 a.m. | Cross the Finish Line and Celebrate Your Achievement
  • Re-visit the Resource Fair
11:30 a.m. | Event Ends
 
PARKING
FREE Parking is available at the museum.

2024 STARK WALK T-SHIRT
Any individual who raises $50 or more is eligible for this year's walk T-shirt! Walk day T-shirt pick up will be available at the check in table. If you have earned a shirt and cannot pick it up at the walk, please contact Tom@AutismAkron.org to set up a pick-up time after June 22. Supply and sizes are limited.   

ASGA TENT AREA
  • Connect with ASGA Support Specialists and Resources
  • Autism merchandise available for sale.
  • Donation Station *Drop off your fundraising money. *Make a donation - cash, cards, Venmo, and checks will be accepted. *Checks should be made payable to: Autism Society of Greater Akron
  • First-aid kit available on site

SAFETY
Please help us keep the Monument, Parks and our event safe. If you see or hear something concerning, please call 9-1-1 and notify staff at the ASGA table.
The restrooms in the Museum building will not be open to the public (you may purchase admission to the museum if you would prefer). 
Portable toilets are available on site.
 
FIRST AID
A First-Aid kit will be available at the ASGA tent. If you have a medical need, please find a volunteer in a yellow vest or burgundy polo shirt.
If you have an emergency that requires EMS, please call 9-1-1. Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital is located approximately 0.4 miles north of our event location.

WEATHER AND HYDRATION
Be sure to stay hydrated. Please feel free to bring your own beverages and snacks. Please plan for any type of weather.
