Overview


XTERRA Les Bois is the premier off-road triathlon in Boise. It consists of a fresh water swim at Sandy Point, a scenic mountain bike ride on the Public Trail System west of Sandy Point at Lucky Peak Reservoir and the Oregon Historical Trailhead Area with spectacular views of the Boise Foothills and ending with a trail run that you won't forget!

This event consists of a central trasition area where your family and friends can gather. Our spectator friendly course allows for additional recreational and comfort ammenities such as a family friendly beach with restrooms. Large grass areas allow for great picnic spots.

The Course

Swim

Olyipmic - 2 laps (1000m)

Sprint - 1 lap (500m)

The swim course will take place at Sandy Point. It will be an 500 meter rectangular loop, that will be swam in a counter-clockwise fashion. It will be an in-water, mass start.

 

Bike

Olympic - 2 laps (20 miles)

Sprint = 1 lap (10 mile)

The bike course is fast with sections that will test your fitness. It features 1,100 feet of climbing per loop. It takes place on the Public Trail System west of Sandy Point at Lucky Peak Reservoir and the Oregon Historical Trailhead Area off Highway 21. It is a circular course that will be ridden in a clockwise fashion.

 

Run

Olympic - 2 lap (5.2 miles)

Sprint - 1 lap (3.2 miles)

Athletes will leave T2 via the Power Plant driveway and run towards the .5 mile out and back section along the greenbelt. This will bring you towards the beach section. Once at the beach, you will make a left hand trun towards the water on the sand and complete a short section on the waters edge, then winding your way in a “snaking” fashion on the sand towards the blacktop path. Once on the path, you will run Southeast on grass/parking lot will you will make a right onto a service gravel road towards the bottom of “The Groin.” You will ascend the groin and run on trail in a south direction towards the top of the gravel service road where you will end your loop.

Sprint distanace althetes will complete this lap once. Olympic athletes will complete this lap twice. After completing your final lap, runners will return home by heading down the gravel service road completing an additional partical loop. Prior to ascending “The Groin,” athletes will make a left towards the finish line.

 

Transitions T1/T2

Locatd down in Sandy point, there will be only one transition.

 

Finish Line

Participants will Start and Finish at Sandy Point.
