Valor / Kagitingan Bracelet - 75 years ago on April 9, 1942 after 5 months of defending the Philippine Peninsula of Bataan. About 10,000 Philippine troops and 1,000 US army troops surrendered to the Japanese Imperial Army and began a forced 66 mile march from Bataan to Tarlac without food or water. If you couldn't keep up with the pace you were either shot, bayonetted or beheaded. 1,000s of soldiers died on this march and even more in the prison camps for those who survived the march. This march is now infamously known as the Bataan Death March and April 9th is known is the Araw ng Kagitingan or the Day of Valor.
Proceeds from the sale of this bracelet will be used to raise funds for various Filipino Veteran Charity Organizations such as FilVetRep (www.filvetrep.org) and the Bataan Legacy Historical Society.
