Groundhog Gallop 5K and Kids Run

Come to Beautiful Johnson County Park to run or walk this beautiful 5K!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: GPS Units WILL NOT get you to this event. Please ONLY use the directions listed here to arrive in a timely manner. The park is located on old military land and though it looks like we have an address, even on google, your GPS will not get you here. Some of the old roads do not exist anymore and there's a pretty good chance you will end up a town away. Please, please, just use the written directions. Thanks!

DIRECTIONS TO JOHNSON COUNTY PARK

FROM THE NORTH

Take I-65 South to Exit 90 (Franklin). Take a right off the exit to head WEST on SR 44 to US 31. Turn LEFT onto US 31 to go SOUTH. Stay on US 31 S for 5 miles to SR 252. Turn RIGHT onto SR 252 to head WEST. (Just before you turn you’ll see a HUGE rocking chair at Long’s Furniture World.) Take SR 252 W two miles to County Road 325 E (also called Schoolhouse Road). Turn LEFT onto 325 E/Schoolhouse. There is a Johnson County Park sign at this turn, which will be a big hint, directionally. The park is located 2 miles SOUTH on Schoolhouse Road, past the DNR Office on the right.

FROM THE SOUTH

Take I-65 NORTH to Exit 76-B (Edinburgh). You’ll see Edinburgh Outlet Mall. Go to the third traffic light, counting the one at the mall and turn LEFT at the 3rd light. You’ll turn onto Hospital Road, although there isn’t a sign at that location.  You will see Camp Atterbury, Johnson County Park and Hoosier Horse Park signs as you approach. Whispering Pines Golf Course will be on the RIGHT. After you pass that, take the first RIGHT onto Schoolhouse Road. The Horse Park will be on your left. To get to the park office, continue on Schoolhouse to North Street and turn LEFT.
