The 15th Annual Run4Ricky's 5K Run certified course, will begin and end on Friendship rd at the Wilcox home, proceed down the country road, and thru Buena Regional High School secluded cross country track, If your not up to run, do our scenic one mile walk!. A kids Fun Run with obstacle course is held on the Wilcox property. Medals and prizes awarded for kids run winners,,All kids receive medals and small prizes. This is a fun, great community event. Following the Run , head over to the BBQ at Michael Debbie Park, Richland NJ. All registered runners, walkers and kids run participants receive free entry to BBQ.
The proceeds from our Annual Run4Ricky supports the Ricky Wilcox Scholarship Fund. Ricky Wilcox was a well respected student athlete and standout wrestler from Buena Regional High School. He was to attend West Virginia University in the fall. On June 14th 2004 his life was cut short in a car accident the day before graduation..The Ricky Wilcox Scholarship Fund is a 501 C 3 nonprofit providing scholarships to outstanding graduating students and student athletes from Buena Regional High School .The scholarship fund has been set up in Ricky’s honor, to recognize athletes who embody the qualities he demonstrated to his school mates and opposing athletes on and off the mat and to honor the many ambitions he had for his life thru education.. . The Ricky Wilcox Memorial Scholarships are awarded on a yearly basis to students who are attending a 2 or 4 years college or trade school. These funds are all generated through the Annual “Run4Ricky. We are proud to say that since inception more than $180,000.00 has been awarded. We are grateful for the continued support and generosity of our sponsors, community, schools, participants, and volunteers, who without this would not be possible. A class room has been also been dedicated to Ricky’s memory at the new Buena Regional Middle school. Contributions may be sent to: The Ricky Wilcox Scholarship Fund, P.O. 5k Top M & F Overall 5k Winner - $250.00
Top 3 M & F in each Age Group will receive medals. 5k Age Groups: 12 & Under, 13 - 15; 16 - 19; 20 - 29; 30 - 39; 40 - 49; 50 - 59; 60+.
Kid's Fun Run Top 3 in each Age Group will receive Medals & Prizes.
Kid's Fun Run Age Groups: 6 & Under; 7 - 9; 10 - 12. All children will receive participation medals.
BBQ
Join us after the race for the All-U-Can-Eat BBQ! From 12 to 5pm at Michael Debbie Park., Cedar ave, Richland NJ . Click on the Store button if you only want to purchase tickets to the BBQ.
