Description
Participate in a race on the University of Pennsylvania campus and support children whose parents have cancer!
The Catch Karl 5K is just one of many fundraising efforts that support Camp Kesem at the University of Pennsylvania. Camp Kesem is a student-run organization that provides a week-long camp for children whose parents have or have had cancer. The camp is free of cost to all families, but in order to provide this wonderful service, it is necessary that we raise $35,000 throughout the course of the year.
Our camp is just one of many chapters that can be found at universities around the country, as Camp Kesem is a national non-profit organization. The chapter at the University of Pennsylvania mostly serves families in the Greater Philadelphia Area, and this year we will be serving over 50 campers and their families.
The name of the race comes from Karl the caterpillar, who is the official Camp Kesem mascot and is featured on our organization's logo.
Sponsors for this year's race include Chipotle, Chobani, RoadID, Starbucks, Sweetgreen, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Bon Appetit.
