2025-26 School Year to date SOS has:

• Raised over $51,000 through the 6th Annual Strides for SOS 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk
• Received 43 requests for support from 24 families and provided over $18,000 in financial assistance to these families for medical and utility bills, groceries, gas, childcare, and clothing
• Provided non-perishable food bags ($5,000) and $35,500 in gift cards and cash to 88 families from 12 BPS schools to assist with holiday shopping and food for 355 people 
  • All thanks to generous donations from the community as part of the Annual December Season of Giving
• Provided period hygiene product dispensers to BPS middle and high schools through a donation from SOS board members
• Assembled 100 non-perishable food bags ($,5000) to be distributed to families for the February and March school breaks

In addition, SOS will provide $10,000 in scholarships to 2026 graduating seniors through the Annual Barbara & Sheldon Weisberg SOS Laptop Scholarship Fund

*The Executive Board of SOS is made up entirely of volunteers. Schools Offer Support has no payroll costs. With the exception of a small number of administrative costs, 95% of all money donated goes toward its mission.
