In addition to finisher medals awarded for each finisher, there will be specific overall, masters, grand masters, great grand masters, and age group awards. Overall and Age Group award winners will each receive a custom award engraved with the award description: 1st Place Male, Age Group 40-44 as an example. Overall award winners will ALSO receive SunSky 10K swag to commemorate their accomplishment.
OVERALL AWARDS
The top finishers will receive an overall award in the following categories:
- Overall Male and Female (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) - scored using GUN TIME
- Masters (40+) male and female (1st Only) - scored using GUN TIME
- Grand Masters (50+) male and female (1st Only) - scored using CHIP TIME
- Great Grand Masters (60+) male and female (1st Only) - scored using CHIP TIME
AGE GROUP CATEGORIES
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place males and females in each of the following categories will receive an age group award:
16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85+**
*All registrants must be 16 years of age or older in order to register for the SunSky 10K.
*I*f there are runners over the age of 89, an additional age group category will be created for the appropriate 5-year window.
KING & QUEEN OF THE HILL
The King of the Hill and Queen of the Hill awards will be presented to the fastest male and female participants on the uphill portion of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. The winners will be determined by their official chip time over the designated climb segment—not their overall finish time.
All awards must be picked up at the event. When registering, you can elect to have your results sent via text message or emailed to your phone. These are sent within minutes of you finishing the race. Results can also be checked at our TIMING AND RESULTS tent. Awards can be claimed AFTER 10:00am from the AWARDS Tent. There will be a brief Awards Ceremony at approximately 9:30am. Awards will not be shipped post-race automatically. If you need your award shipped, you can purchase that option from our store for up to 2 weeks post-race.
MEDAL ENGRAVING
Participants may pre-purchase Medal Engraving during registration for $20. Medal Engraving is limited to the first 200 purchases and typically sells out, so we encourage participants to reserve their spot early. On race day, simply bring your finisher medal to the Medal Engraving tent located in the finish area. Receipt printers will be available to print a ticket with your name and finish time. Most medals are engraved in less than five minutes. If there is a line, participants may leave their medal with race staff to be engraved and return later to pick it up. Please be sure to claim your medal before leaving the event, as unclaimed medals will not be shipped.
If available, participants are able to purchase Medal Engraving on race day for $25.
