The 5K is chip-timed. The bib you receive includes a chip which records your start and finish time so your official results will be posted. The Fun Run is not timed.
Packet pick-up will start at 8:00AM. You will be able to pick up your bib and race day t-shirt. You will also be able to register if you haven’t already. It is recommended that you pre-register to make check-in faster.

Yes, you can sign up on your phone or at the Registration tent (see site map) as early as 8:00AM for the 9:00AM 5K start time. We recommend pre-Race Day registering to make your check in easier and faster, and also, the price does increase the last couple weeks before Race Day.
Yes—we will present 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards for overall finishers and finishers in each age group. Awards will be announced just before noon on Race Day.
Results will be posted on the RunSignUp site shortly after the finish. You’ll be able to view your official chip time and overall place by bib number. Awards will be recognized at the closing ceremony, usually close to noon on Race Day.
We welcome walkers and cheer squads! Whether you walk or run, you’re supporting a great cause. If you prefer to come just to cheer, you’re also more than welcome—come join the community spirit. You can also support by registering as a Sleep-In participant; you can even make a team and raise money for the cause and win prizes, too.
Yes. Camp Sweeney's Play for the Day 5K and Festival features games, rides, face painting, balloon twisting, a live band, and a couple of food trucks. It is a great spend the Memorial Day morning. Festival time is 9:00AM to 12 Noon.

Absolutely! You’re encouraged to run or walk in honor or memory of a loved one impacted by diabetes. In fact, you can run or walk just because you want to - everyone is welcome!
The festival is at the Lake Highlands North Park – 9344 Church Road, Dallas TX 75231. The 5K and the Fun Run both start on Church Road and run through the lovely Lake Highlands neighborhoods. You may park at the Wildcat Stadium just north of Lake Highlands North Park or at Northlake Elementary northeast of the park. See Race Route and Site Map.
This event will be rain or shine.
There is no refund policy. In the event you choose not to participate or the event is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, all proceeds will be donated to Camp Sweeney. You may choose to purchase race insurance. Camp Sweeney does not benefit from race insurance purchases.
We have no age restrictions; however, we do ask for a parent or guardian signature on all minors under 18 years of age.
Children are welcome and encouraged—walking or running with you is great. For safety and manageability, if bringing a stroller, please start at the back and be aware of other participants. You do not need to pay for a child riding in a stroller.
Yes, you can bring your pup! But make sure to follow Dallas guidelines and laws for dogs in public, such as all dogs on a leash no longer than 6 feet, current rabies/registration tags, and owners must pick up pet waste immediately and other rules as listed by the City of Dallas https://dallascityhall.com/departments/dallas-animal-services/Pages/Pet-Laws.aspx
We will have two water stops on the 5K course. We will also have light post-race snacks by the finish line.
