Part of the Garmin Marathon
When Run Tucson was approached by Garmin about developing a race route for their 2025 Garmin Tucson Marathon, Randy and Tia thought that the TMC Tucson 10k route would be a perfect piece of the puzzle.
Garmin asked up to come up with a series of race routes for their new race. The puzzle needed to fit these parameters: start and finish in Downtown Tucson, without crossing train tracks or using the Tucson Convention Center or Jacome Plaza. It needed to include desert scenery, the UofA, Reid Park, and Sam Hughes neighborhood.
While we know that the TMC Tucson 10k course has some hills, the beautiful scenery and stunning mountain backdrop fit the puzzle nicely.
Both Randy and Tia have used this route as part of marathon training, so they know that the hills are managable and the roadway smooth and comfortable.
We've used this TMC Tucson 10k course for 9 years now and we offer special thanks to Ross Zimmerman for suggesting Pima Community College West as the staging location.
