Description
run-run-run-Run! run-run-run-Run!
The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera is excited to announce a fun and exciting way to support the region's local orchestra while also getting some steps in: Beethoven's 5(th)K! Since this race is virtual, you can participate from anywhere in the world.
In simpler times (a.k.a. January 2020), the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera performed Beethoven's Fifth to a nearly sold-out crowd in Chattanooga's own Tivoli Theatre. Unfortunately, less than two months later, the COVID-19 pandemic shuttered concert halls across the world, and performances were put on pause. Join us as we look (and listen) back while enjoying the gorgeous fall weather - or while you tackle the distance on your treadmill from home.
We’ll provide the Spotify playlist, so all you need to do is register and get moving. You can complete your socially distanced 5K run or walk from anywhere, including your treadmill, a favorite hiking trail, or your neighborhood. (Check out our recommended routes below if you're local.) The only parameter is that you must complete your 5K between October 10-17. Registrants will also receive a 5(th)K T-shirt, and event proceeds will support the CSO's Annual Fund.
All levels of participation are welcome. You can...
- Track your time and compete with others in our Strava club*
- Complete the race on your own time and at your own pace
- Register for the T-shirt (and not walk/run at all!)
Regardless of how you choose to participate, your support helps the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera keep the music playing - thank you!
Please note: T-shirts will be mailed after October 17.
Disclaimer: Please abide by all traffic rules and do not run or walk on unsafe roads/areas that have been closed off to the public. Practice social distancing and any other requirements set forth by local, state and federal guidelines.
